What did you learn about ancient China during your exploration today?

I learned that there are about 1.25 million people living in China and that is about 1 quarter of the earth's population.

The scabbard was the main weapon used. They also used longbows that had great power and could shoot far distances.

The great wall of China was built by prisoners.

Qin Shi Huandi introduced a single currency this helped trade. Everyone would know what something was worth.

Silk and cotton were traded and used for payment on ordered goods.

Gaodi created a form of government called Confucianism instead of legalism.

They used camels to travel on the Silk Road. They had all types of weapons, but the bamboo bow was the most popular weapon of choice. The Great Wall of China was built in the Qin dynasty it was built to keep out the nomads. Southern china is wet and tropical. North-west china is covered in desert.

Did you know that china is the worlds 4th largest country? It’s true that China is the 4th largest country in the world. The Chinese people did ceremonies for their ancestors to try to persuade them to bring them good luck. The Chinese writing is called logograms. This is what I learned China today.

I learned that silkworms were collected and fed Mullberry leaves. I also learned that silk was used as payment for other things.

I didn’t know that they had 1.25 billion people there and that that’s a quarter of the world’s population. I didn’t know it was dessert either. Then I learned that the ruler had a busy schedule.

Chinese traded iron, silk, spices, jade and green ginger. And they’d used bronze bells to perform music. And put them in tombs for there people. They also have over a billion people.

Today I learned about the clay army Qin Shihuangdi built the clay army to protected him in the after life. I also learned about how he unified money, measurement, and writing.

The Qin dynasty is the most important. The Great Wall of China is very long and was built by Qin Shihuangdi

I want to learn how to make silk. Get food for silk worms 2 put in basket with favorite food. 3 keep them warm so they don’t die 4 kill them after a couple of months 5make strands of cocoons and weave into fabric

I learned that Qin Shi Huangdi was powerful because of his strong and powerful army. He liked things his way due to the fact that he was a cruel person. The reason it couldn’t be any other way is because he was cruel and he was very harsh.

Spices exported from China were anise and ginger.

Laquerware took a lot of time to make so it cost a lot of money.

Rhubarb was used as a medicine.

Roses were exported from China.

There was a guy named Gaodi and he started out as a peasant but then he wasn’t pleased with his job so he decided to get a new job and he became the authorial of the king. I just learned that for every 500 meters built of the Great Wall of China someone died. It was built to protect the Chinese from invaders.

I learned that Jade and bronze were important to the Chinese people. China is the worlds 4th biggest country which most of that country is forest. China had 3 dynasties in their time. The Chinese believe that what they do in life will effect their afterlife. They also believed that their dead ancestors could bring them good and bad luck. The Chinese System of writing is called logograms where they write with symbols. In the Qin system of laws the laws were very strict. The government in the time of the Qin system melted all weapons. Silk is made form silkworms. Rhubarb was grounded to make medicines.

China is very hot. It has 2 important rivers, the Yangzi and yellow, and they both are a big importance to China. Jade and bronze were the most prized materials in China. They also had silk made from silkworms. There were many dynasties in Ancient China. China put items in their tombs.

The trade started when the first emperor introduced a uniform cart axle width. They trade rice, tea, wheat, millet and barley from the north, silk, and cotton. So to cut it all down they traded a lot of stuff.

Some things that I learned today were… That the ancient Chinese believed that life would continue after they died. They believed that your dead ancestors lived in the spirit worlds with gods. The Chinese use logograms. Jades and Rubies were the most prized materials in Ancient China. I also learned that the Chinese had kept the creation of silk a secret for many years. Silk became very popular all around the world.

The thing I didn’t know about ancient India was hat you couldn’t own a weapon only if you are in war. I didn’t know that the great wall was built by prisoners and conscripts.

That china had a lot of silk and lacquer-ware and lacquer-ware made things like vases etc. but it made it look very pretty.

I Learned A lot About The Tombs and how their kind of like the Egyptians tombs and how there where under ground.These Ancient China Ones are kind of like that except they don't have a huge pyramid they have a little platform thin with wood and ...dirt.

I learned that the Chinese had complicated siege engines. They imported horses, incense, and many other things. They exported silk, spices, laquerware, etc. The Chinese believed in the afterlife.

I learned that longbows had great power and could shoot great distances. These bows were made of bamboo.

I also learned that the scabbard was one of the main weapons used by armies.

I also learned conducive lived during the 6 and 5 centuries B.C..

I learned that the govnerment was based on legallism. Punishment for crimes were very harsh.

I also learned that to promote peace they melted down all unnecessary weapons.
